This page is just about the phonics , where they come from...etc & some more pics!
STEREOPHONICS THE BEGINNING!
The phonics come from a Welsh town called Cwmaman.

Kelly Jones- lead singer , guitarist & song writer.
Richard Jones- bass guitarist
Stuart Cable- Drummer

They started off using the name THE TRAGIC LOVE COMPANY, but as it just didnt have that edge 2 it , they had to think of a new name so one day Stuart noticed his grandmothers old Grammaphone & he saw the brandname "STEREOPHONICS" written on the side & told the guys & it did the trick & they became the band they are today The Stereophonics!

Have to say if u compared this pic of the phonics 2 one taken recently , Rich & Stu look so much different! But Kelly still looks the same well oviously a few differences i.e the ageing process

But they still look good
   THREE ALBUMS SO FAR!
The phonics realeased there Debut album "Word Gets Around" in 1997 after been the 1st band to be signed to Richard Bransons new label V2!
They went on to realease the following tracks from the album:

These songs failed to grab the medias attention & the phonics didnt get alot of air play , which in my opinion is a pity as these songs r really the phonics best work!
but did the boys give up NO!

Second album "Performance & Cocktails" was realeased in 1999
It is always a tough job 2 follow up a debut album especially when ur debut album doesnt storm the charts! But they did it & they did it very very well

Hurry up & Wait !
This album went to No1 & even got the phonics a no.3 single in the charts "BARTENDER"

I highly recommend the P&C video its really behind the scenes & funny

The WGA vid is good but if ur not a hardcore fan i wouldnt recommend!

i just got the other 2 vids Cardiff Castle & Morfa Stadium well i was very impressed by Cardiff its so energetic & has all the old classics carrot cake & wine , 100 trees ...etc i really recommend it its classic

I did like Morfa alot aswell the only thing that i didnt like was how they cut some songs short but all & all its a good video plenty of funny behind the scenes & u get 2 see stu`s & Rich`s wifes!!!

well worth a look so go out & buy

As these vids were realeased a good while ago its hard 2 get em in shops so i got mine online at AMAZON & i highly recommend them!

Just Enough Evidence to Print!
The phonics realeased J.E.E.P the book this year, i think after all those unofficial books that had been realeased over the years , the boys finally realised that an offical book needed to be put out there, so with the help of Danny O`Connor J.E.E.P was realeased telling of the phonics story of their road 2 success, & backrounds! As Danny had been interviewing the phonics from the beginning he was the man for the job!

I bought J.E.E.P the book & it is absolutly amazing , its really funny , interesting & u really get to the kno the band a bit better!
Its a must have for all stereophonics fans & even if ur not a fan its still an interesting read!
